Georgia Ellenwood was amazing at the BC High School Track and Field Championships. Although only in Grade 10, she won the Heptathlon last weekend, and then went on to win the High Jump, Long Jump, and 100m hurdles this past weekend. On her own, she place 3rd in the girls' team category, with 40 points, just 6 points back of the large contingent from Walnut Grove, who were 2nd in the competition.
Georgia has personal bests in the 100m hurdles and the long jump enroute to her titles. She was honoured with the trophy for the top female performer of the meet.
Also competing for LSS were Stuart Ellenwood, who ran a personal best in the 400 metres and finished 4th overall, and Gabe Marshalok, who finished 15th in the province in the 200 metres, and 20th in the 100 metres.
The boys 4x100 metre relay team - consisting of Jacob Dallamore, Stuart Ellenwood, Will Kupchuk, and Gabe Marshalok - finished the provincial competition in 14th place.
In the combined aggregate competition, Langley Secondary finished in a tie for 7th place in the province!
